Finding Information on Salmon

Starting out

Look in an encyclopedia or similar basic source to get background information on salmon. Make a list of terms, such as common names, species names, and perhaps some special terms like "parr." These terms can help you later in a search for journal articles or Web sites. For online help with common and scientific names, consult FishBase (http://www.fishbase.org/search.cfm). For help with definitions of unfamiliar terms, try the BioTech Life Science Dictionary (http://biotech.icmb.utexas.edu/search/dict-search.mhtml).
