Evidence-Based Research

Guide to Research Methods, a tutorial from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, covers the basics. Note the top three levels of the pyramid —

• Cohort studies
• Randomized controlled trials
• Systematic reviews (including meta-analyses)

These are the types of study you will want to look for in the library databases.
