Finding Books at Chemeketa and our Partner Libraries
The library catalog is used to find books and audio-visual materials at Chemeketa Community College library and other public and college/university libraries. The catalog is online at http://library.chemeketa.edu/cataloghome.htm.

Another option is to do a keyword search. Type in words and phrases to describe what you are looking for. Use and between terms. |

Search results in the catalog will include items that have your keywords in the title or description of what the item is about. Use the call number to find the book on the shelf. You may find more than one book that is useful in that call number area. Books check out for three weeks. |

In the catalog you may also search for materials available at public libraries in Polk, Marion, or Yamhill counties. To search the public libraries, choose "All CCRLS Libraries" in the drop down menu (see picture below). You may use your student ID card to request to have CCRLS materials delivered (free of charge).

HINT: in the 395.52 call number area you will find books on business etiquette around the world. These usually include information on culture and communication.

Use Databases to Find Articles and Other Resources
Databases are used to find articles. There are many different databases available for different topics. Go to http://library.chemeketa.edu/information/database.htm to select and use library databases. From off campus, you will be prompted to enter your My Chemeketa username/password for access.
Recommended databases for this assignment are:
- Academic OneFile [Gale] – Mostly scholarly journals on a variety of topics.
- General OneFile [Gale] - Provides full text for over 5,000 periodicals.
- Student Resources in Context [Gale] - click on "Topics" in the black navigation bar.

Student Resources in Context (database)
From the Chemeketa Library Database page, scroll down the alphabetical list to The Student Resources in Context database. Click on the database name. Once inside the Student Resources in Context database, click on "Topics" in the black navigation bar to see a list of subjects. The subject list is arranged alphabetically and includes country profiles.
