General Library Questions

Fines: Can I pay library fines or fees online?
Not at this time, but you can pay over the phone. Please contact the Circulation Desk at 503.399.5043. For more information about fines visit our Borrower Services page.

Library cards: How do I get a library card?
- Your Virtual student ID or older student ID card is your library card
- Instructions for obtaining Virtual ID
- Students who do not have a smartphone can obtain a physical ID from the Public Safety office (Salem, 2/173) or from the main desk at Yamhill Campus
- You do not need a student ID for remote access and requesting. You will need a digital or physical student ID card to check out materials you have requested and to use the computers in the Student Computer Center
- Use your regular Chemeketa single sign on login to sign into our Primo Library Search or access databases
- CCRLS public library cards can be used to request public library books or obtain a Partners' card. For information about obtaining Partners' cards, please see the Borrower Services page
- Your ID is valid during any term in which you are a student
- Your Virtual student ID or older student ID card is your library card

Computer & Printing Questions

Computers: Does the library have computers I can use?
Yes. For information about computers on campus, please see Computer Services.
Chemeketa has Chromebooks and laptops for students to check out with a signed agreement. You can pick up or return computers at one of four locations:
- Salem Campus
- Yamhill Valley Campus
- Polk Center
Woodburn Center

Copying: Where can I make copies? How much do they cost?
Salem Campus:
- Two black and white copiers are located in the Library Print Center
- Copies cost $.05 per page
Yamhill Valley Campus:
- Two black and white copiers in the Yamhill Valley Campus Library and Tutoring Center
- Copies cost $.05 per page
Color Copies:
- The Chemeketa Copy Center (Building 43, Salem campus) has a color copier/printer
- Color copies/prints are $.50

PRINTING AND OFFICE SUPPLIES: DO YOU HAVE A PENCIL SHARPENER, HOLE PUNCH, PAPER CUTTER, ETC.?
Salem Campus:
- Print Center: Electric pencil sharpener, stapler and a paper cutter
- Circulation Desk: Hole punch, stapler, tape, pens, and pencils
Yamhill Valley Campus:
- Hole punch, pencil sharpener, stapler, tape, pens, and pencils

Printing: Can I print from computers in the library?

Scanners: Does the library have scanners I can use?
Salem Campus:
- A scanner for student use is at Student Station 31
- A scanner for public use is at Public Station 08
- Help from an Instructional Specialist is available if needed
At the Yamhill Valley Campus:
- Scanner in the Student Lab at Computer #27
- Help from library and tutoring staff is available at the Circulation Desk
Wireless Network/Wi-Fi Questions

CONNECTING: HOW DO I CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS NETWORK?
How to connect (for students and employees):
- If you have a previous connection to CCCStudent or CCCEmployee, forget it on your device
- Connect to the network called Stormnet
- The WiFi network will make use of single sign-on credentials (which only need to be entered once)
Visitors can select the Chemeketa Visitor network and acknowledge the terms of usage. They will need to repeat this process after 12 hours.

WIRELESS PRINTING: CAN I PRINT FROM THE WIRELESS NETWORK?
Yes, as long as you are on a Chemeketa Wi-Fi network such as StormNet or ChemeketaVisitor. For information please see our Wireless Printing page.

OFF CAMPUS ACCESS: CAN I ACCESS YOUR ELECTRONIC RESOURCES FROM OFF CAMPUS?
Yes, from the library search on the home page or from the library's Database page. You will need your My Chemeketa user name and password as a login.

TEXTBOOKS: DOES THE LIBRARY HAVE MY TEXTBOOK?
- Textbooks are not guaranteed and are first come, first served
